The Battle of the Bulge or also known as the Ardennes Counteroffensive took place in Belgium between the 16th of December 1944 and the 25th of January 1945. Discover the intense battles of the during the Siege of Bastogne including stories surrounding the infamous Easy Company of the 506th, 101st Airborne. Walk through the forests and discover untouched foxholes used by the infantry during this battle. Also the engagement of American forces around the town of St.Vith
To make the most of your stay we advise an early morning flight from Dublin to Brussels which is usually between 6.30 and 7.00am although later flights are available from Belfast. This means that we can begin our tour at Lunchtime on the day of arrival. Accommodation will be based either be in Bastogne depending on availability and will consist of twin room sharing unless specifically requested. Single person supplement may apply.

Upon arrival in Bastogne we begin our tour by discovering the besieged town and then talk about the units and conditions endured by the men and population held up there during this counteroffensive. If open a guide of the Bastogne Barracks will also be available.

Day 2
Heading out of Bastogne we make our way towards the front line and into Bois Jacques where we can discover the conditions and foxholes that provided American troops with cover. Walk along the ridge line and follow in the footsteps of Easy Company as they attack German positions in the village of Foy as portrayed in the HBO series Band of Brothers. Visit the Bastogne War Museum and the Mardasson Memorial.

Heading out of Bastogne we make our way towards the front line and into Bois Jacques where we can discover the conditions and foxholes that provided American troops with cover. Follow the battle waged against Germany’s 5th Panzer Army by overwhelmed American ground forces at this vital junction. Visit the attacks and counterattacks of the American 7th Armoured Division and the withdrawal of troops on 21st of December 1944.
